In a move to reestablish their North American headquarters, Natixis Investment Managers moved into 154,000 square feet of space on six floors of a new, sustainable high-rise in Boston’s Back Bay. CBT designed the six-floor office space as a cohesive and dynamic environment, connecting all floors with a contiguous central stair and emphasizing community and visual connections throughout the space.

With the emphasis on providing for employee comfort, Natixis sought to leverage the benefits and availability of natural light throughout the office. CBT located private offices away from the perimeter, freeing up this space for workstations and collaborative hubs and providing employees with abundant access to light and views.

To emphasize employee wellness and encourage social interaction, the design team distributed social hubs and touchdown spaces throughout the space. Neighborhood squares provide team-oriented work areas and adjacent common spaces throughout each floor, and the design leverages technology of all types and sizes throughout the space. A new fourth-floor terrace is a dynamic place for employees to socialize, relax, and recharge.
